The Essence of Elegant Living
Have you been thinking how life is so overwhelming even without doing anything meaningful? You wake up, and the first thing you do is check your phone and then starts the endless scrolling, consuming and somehow the day feels already full.
But not in a positive satisfying way, just heavy.
And before we realize, life starts to feel rushed, loud with opinions, expectation and noise that isn’t really ours.
This blog is a response to that feeling.
Why “The Poised Journal”?
Studying in convent schools under the watchful guidance of the lovely sisters, I have always been drawn towards the idea of being poised. And by ‘poised’ I don’t mean perfect or polished but in a more humble and self-aware way.
In my view poised means carrying myself with a confidence that doesn’t require constant validation. It is taking a moment before reacting. Being poised simply means living with a sense of calm and clarity, while everything around feels chaotic.
In today’s fast paced world being poised can feel a bit out of place. But this is the kind of calm most of us are searching for.
What does Elegant Living mean to me?
In my perspective, elegant living has very little to do with aesthetics. It is more about doing everything with an intention. More than how things look, it’s about how things actually feel.
For example, planning my day in the morning instead of going with the flow or choosing calmness than over-reacting or deciding to focus on.
In simple words, elegant living is minimal in not just what you own but in how you think. It’s more like creating a space of you own mentally, emotionally and physically for what actually matters. But most importantly, it’s about learning to slow down without having the feeling of falling behind.
Why I am starting this?
When I was in college, I used to be a part-time anchor. I have spent hours in front and back of the camera- writing, presenting and storytelling. That experience taught me what we see on screen is in fact carefully curated.
The effortless confidence, clarity and presentation we see on screen, actually undergoes a deliberately crafted process. Through this journal I wish to share that process with you all.
This journal is not about finished thoughts, but about the in-between moments, the learning and the refining process. I am not writing as an expert in this matter but I am growing as I do so. And I invite you all to join in my journey as well.
What this space will be?
The Poised Journal is a space for slowing down a little. It is about elegant, intentional living which is rooted in minimalism, confidence and thoughtful expression.
This is where we will explore together, what it is to live with more intention, in a rapidly growing world that pushes us to think less and act more.
Through this journal, I will write about building calmer, supportive routines, expressing yourself more confidently and with clarity and creating a mental and emotional space for the things that actually matters.
This is also a space where I will be documenting my journey of building something creative and meaningful online.
I will share with you what I learn about writing that say something, storytelling that feels real and creating content that doesn’t chase attention but creates an impact.
So alongside elegant living, you will also be part of my creative online journey. Poised Journal is a platform that stands between living and creating. Its about doing things with clarity, intention and a strong sense of self.
A Quite Start
This is a simple beginning. There is no grand opening or a loud beginning. There is no perfect plan or structured strategy behind it yet.
This is just a decision to start, just thoughtfully this time.
If you are someone who feel the same, and wants to be more intentional, then this is the right place for you.
Welcome to The Poise Journal.
